SCARF BONANZA!!!

Need a quick, easy, and inexpensive Chrismas gift? Come make a warm winter scarf in one of three classes we have added to our December calendar. You’ll find these scarves are perfect for a teacher gift, hostess gift, or a gift for someone special. Our newest scarf—made from a marbled minkee fabric we found on our recent Houston buying trip—uses ¼” elastic to make the scarf spin and swirl. Not enough time to try something new?? Then just stitch up one of our standard scarves in a variety of fabrics, including rose cuddle, animal skins, and embossed minkee prints. Check out the dates and times below for our scarf classes:

Dates:

Tuesday, December 4                 9:30 am – 12 noon OR 6 – 8:30 pm
Thursday, December 6                 6 – 8:30 pm

Class Fee: $10

Fabric Wreaths

Carey, one of our teachers here at Stitcher’s Playhouse, has been making these fun fabric wreaths . We thought it was so cute and could be made for any occasion.  Mary gathered scraps from our many Halloween prints and created the first one.

Then we remembered pieces of a ‘honey bun’ left from a class two years ago and created a second one.  Can't you see an Easter Bunny adorning this one!  Or hang a child's initial in the middle of the wreath to make a beautiful bedroom door or wall decoration.
We all have scraps from our various projects throughout the year. So take that material, cut 1 ½” X 7” strips and tie them to a single metal ring. We used a 12” ring and it took approximately 225 strips.  You can make the wreath as full as you like simply by adding more fabric strips.

You can cut 6 pieces from one width of fabric.  This means you can get 36 pieces from ¼ yard.  So dig out those scraps and get started.  Make one for the upcoming holidays and send us a picture!

Duffle BagClass

What better place to be this past HOT Saturday, than sewing at Stitcher's Playhouse!  The Duffle Bag class fits all levels of expertise.  Terri just finished Beginning Sewing, Stephanie has been sewing a little longer and Jeanie Beth and Leah were two girls from our very first "Kid's Camp" a few years ago.  They all went home with completed bags ready for that first fun trip.  This class has been so popular we have added another Saturday class on August 25th.

Leah and Stephanie are almost finished!

Terri and Jeanie Beth enjoy a cool day of sewing.

Leah's pretty cream and soft blue duffle bag.

Julianna is going to love the bag her mother made.
A name or monogram can be added before class construction.

Terri chose two prints from the just arrived "Vintage Modern" line.

Jeanie Beth's duffle bag is a winner in zebra and flowers!
